Ed is remembered by our Findlay Toastmasters, Bill Freemyer, Ray Jameson, Roy Schwinn and Gary Wilson, and as a hard worker and a fine friend who devoted over ten years to area Toastmasters. He is remembered by Bill and Ray as being involved in starting TM clubs at Bowling Green, Fostoria, Freemont, and Tiffin.
The newspaper reported that Ed was born Aug. 22, 1919 in Aloha Township, Cheboygan, Mich., to Wilfred and Eva Irene (Pallister) Brown. He married Mildred Meister, who died in 1968. He then married Edith Meister in 1969, and she survives in Fostoria. Surviving are two sons, Albert Brian of Watervilleand Bryce Justin of North Lewisburg; two daughters, Mrs.Kenneth (Brenda) Goshe, Fostoria and Mrs. James (Laura Elizabeth) Gorrill Jr., Southfield, Mich.; and eight grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were two brothers, his twin, Albert Henry, and John.
Mr. Brown owned and operated the Merchants Credit Bureau, Fostoria, from 1978. He worked briefly for Fifth Third Bank and Heidelberg College in Tiffin.
He was a member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria, and a former member of the Fostoria Kiwanis Club and the United Conservation and Outdoor Association, Inc., Findlay. He was a member and founder of the Fostoria Chapter of Toastmasters, where he served many years as an officer. He was a 1938 graduate of Cheboygan (Mich.) High School and served overseas during World War II. Ray believes he was a B17 or B24 bomber pilot.
A funeral Mass was to be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria, with a rosary service at 10 a.m. A graveside service was to be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the burial site in St. Francis Xavier Parish Cemetery, Petoskey, Mich.
